LIISA ROBINSON

TEACHER

Liisa loves the traditional roots of yoga. She believes in the healing power of breath, meditation, yoga and community.  Liisa is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (M.Ed 2004) who found that Western psychology didn’t always being the full wisdom of the body and the Universe into healing, so she went back to school to become a yoga teacher in 2007. In 2017 Liisa traveled to the homeland our teachings (India!) to take deeper training in Meditation (completing a 300hr Meditation Teacher training).  It is with the blessing of her teachers that Liisa shares the science and art of yoga with you.

Liisa feels so grateful to have felt the healing powers of yoga in her own life. Her path has been a journey from being a teenager who really struggled to live in her own body – to a young adult who didn’t know she had a choice about how she responded to life – to now where she knows that life is unfolding to teach her and she can meet life in a more peaceful way (usually…still learning too!).  Off the mat, Liisa can found working as a counsellor, travelling and sharing life with her partner Michael and her lovely (mostly grown up!) step daughters. Liisa loves long distance running, being in nature and creating awesome healing meals.
Liisa would like to acknowledge that we are learning together on the unceded territories of the Lekwungen people. Further she is gratefully using teachings from the people of what today we call India.  These realities that can and do divide us, along with a sense of deep human connection to all, set the context for why understanding power and consent in the yoga room (and life) matter deeply to Liisa.  The nature of privilege means Liisa knows she’s still learning.  Let’s learn together.

Instagram post 2219251488974505372_642881456 We completely understand, parking isn't always easy but once you know where to park, it's no longer a pain. Three really important things to remember when coming to the studio:⁠⠀
⁠⠀
• Arrive early so you aren’t feeling rushed in finding a spot.  Your yoga practice starts far before you arrive, so breathe deep and offer yourself the time you need to arrive safely and without added stress.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
• Don’t park in stalls that are not approved.  We really want to you to be happy when you leave the studio and cars that have been tow do not equal happiness.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
• When in doubt, ask it out!  There is always somebody at the front desk who can let you know if where you parked requires some refining!⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Free and safe places to park your vehicle ANYTIME are: ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
• On the main parking pad in front of the studio in stalls marked “The Lab” or the ones that are unmarked entirely.⁠⠀
• Across the street at Walmart (they are absolutely supportive of it too!)⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Additional parking stalls for EVENINGS & WEEKENDS⁠: ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
• Splashes (Upper Deck) – after 5 PM Monday to Saturday, and FREE all day Sundays⁠⠀
⁠⠀
• Splashes (Lower Deck closer to Jacklin Road) – after 5 PM Monday to Friday, FREE on the weekends⁠⠀
