Tara Heal landed in beautiful Victoria in 2017 from a 14 year teaching and “songbirding” in New York City. Tara offers mindful movement that feels powerful, soulful, and dynamic, while incorporating innovative, intelligent sequencing and functional alignment. One of Tara’s greatest passions is guiding and supporting the development of teachers in the making. She’s instrumental in helping new teachers find their voice, use effective concise cueing, sequence creatively and intelligently, and keep some ease and a sense of humor in the process.
Tara regularly offers mentorships and training modules in collaboration with TT programs in the areas of teaching methodology, vinyasa krama, and authentic teaching voice. In 2008 Tara began her own formal teaching journey under the training of Rod Stryker’s Para Yoga Vinyasa Certification (w/Mary Bruce and Johnna Smith), and has continued with trainings, immersions and inspiration from The Iyengar Institute, Laughing Lotus NYC, Kula Yoga NYC, Sivananda, Modo/ Moksha Yoga, Janet Stone, Carly Forest (Yin), Christine Price Clark, Ryan Leir, Dina Tshouluhas, Mary Dana Abott, Witold Fitz-Simmons, Ted Grand, and Jessica Robertson. She will be a dedicated student for life!
Tara is honoured to share the practice that has brought so much courage, resilience and joy into her own life. Alongside Yoga, her work as a performer has taken her to stages all over the globe. She feels endlessly grateful to continue sharing her “why” through movement, music, and connection.
